Reference
Indoor
Ants surge in spring and after heavy rain; the occasional roach/spider is normal in the Southeast. Use bait stations at entry points and a quarterly (or as-needed) perimeter treatment. Seal gaps; keep counters dry.
Outdoor perimeter
Monthly granular or liquid barrier around the foundation through the growing season knocks down most indoor intrusions before they start.
Mosquitoes
Atlanta is heavy May–October. Eliminate standing water weekly (saucers, gutters, the pool cover); treat/yard-fog every ~3 weeks or use a misting routine. Bti dunks in any water features.
Fire ants
Broadcast bait in spring and again in fall for season-long control; spot-treat mounds as they appear.
Lawn grubs
Preventive grub control late spring–early summer (before damage shows). Curative products if you see brown patches that lift like carpet.
Termites
Annual inspection / keep the bond current — Atlanta is high-pressure termite territory. Keep mulch and wood away from the foundation.
Garden pests
Aphids peak May–June and Sept–Oct; basil interplanting, insecticidal soap, and neem handle most of it (see the Garden Guide). Always glove up for hot-pepper work.
Safety
Read labels; keep pets/kids off treated areas until dry; store concentrates locked and away from the pool chemicals.
